Technology is a blessing invented by human beings. Our lives are much easier with the use of technology and the shortcuts it promotes. Behind technology there is a human being. Sometimes we must observe the behaviour of technology to understand human behaviour, and sometimes we must observe human behaviour to understand the use of technology. That is for good or bad usage.

We live in a world surrounded by hightech gadgets and equipment full of tiny entities, which are part of an “invisible” area called Nanotechnology. Nano components have applicability in almost everything we know, and we have just started to explore their power in the public domain. It means the benefits offered by such an advanced piece of technology also offers a threat in the wrong hands. Imagine the ability to precisely erase a malfunctioning cell, helping the immune system in the task of keeping our live vessel safe and sound. It is wonderful to think about such applicability, which combined with the power of the mind could put us on another level. However, at the same time, there is a possibility of using such technology not to heal but to attack the human body, difficulting the immune system to do its function of protecting our live vessel, implying a room for new kind of hightech “diseases”, which could be fabricated in a lab and disseminated through the water we drink, the food we eat, or even the air we breathe.

The importance of consciousness and values of kindness and compassion come along with the challenges we have to face with Nanotechnology. Harming another becomes something we could not detect without hightech equipment, which are not available to the general population.

The more we perform our mind training, the more we become aware that observing how we advance and use our technology is fundamental for understanding our own behaviour, realising how we deal with suffering, and being awakened about how we are able to live a meaningful life.
