There are different colours, nuances, flavours, formats, and details in the source of knowledge we have contact with. Each one of us is able to incorporate knowledge within our own perspective and relativity, generating complementary sources of wisdom applied to different situations. There is no better solution without an application, and there is no application without a suitable solution. We are only able to realise that with consciousness at hand, and out of suffering, the infinite loop of negative criticism and non-understanding we find ourselves imprisoned in. The moment we realise there is no single answer for any question we have contact with in life, it is the moment we understand the role of impermanence and consciousness in our life path.
Buddha, the enlightened one, the man whom has understood suffering within his own perspective and relativity, has always said we need to apply the knowledge he has acquired and disseminated to us, verifying if that knowledge is applicable and valid in our own perspective and relativity. The meaning of such applicability is quite obvious for a conscious mind, and it is called understanding. There are a lot of details specific to each application of the same knowledge. There are a lot of variations for each position the moment we start observing the outcome. Every detail, every variation, every tiny fraction of specificity in any perspective and relativity is by itself another piece of knowledge.
Buddha himself could not have had the opportunity to experience situations we experience at our own perspective and relativity. Buddha himself has done a wonderful job of explaining things in a way that the specificities of his own execution are kept out of the available teachings. Buddha has had such an amazing wisdom to see patterns in everything he has experienced, enabling the dissemination of the good knowledge acquired out of his own struggles towards enlightenment. Buddha himself knew that each one of us is able to do the same in our own perspective and relativity, complementing what he has done, enhancing the knowledge about suffering, and increasing the power of the mind towards the evolution of the whole universe.
Is Buddha better than anyone else? One may ask. There are quite different answers depending on the perspective and relativity we evaluate such a question. We see the truth, and the answer we seek just by using our consciousness to separate beliefs from facts, and faith from understanding. I could guess what any of the past Buddhas would answer if someone had asked such a question. A possible answer could be (Buddha saying): “considering I am the only one able to see the world in my own perspective and relativity, and using my consciousness to recognise suffering and stepping out of it, I could say I am the best person at doing that”. That answer would be followed by a light smile towards the person that has asked the question.
The moment we realise knowledge is something able to multiply itself after sharing, it is the moment we understand why it is essential in the path of a meaningful life.
