While in suffering we cannot think straight about what we have to do, while dealing with challenges we are facing at the present moment. We may get stuck in a place we have no idea what we have to engage in, which may imply thinking about a lot of possibilities with none able to get us in the direction of a proper solution efficiently, and effectively. It does not mean we are not able to overcome the challenge we are facing. It means we are not capable of using our consciousness to keep, restore, and strengthen our peace of mind, implying stepping into suffering, the infinite loop that makes us get anywhere and nowhere in each step we perform. The moment we realise stepping out of suffering requires the use of the power we have inside, it is the moment we understand why consciousness is the key for ending such a state.
Let us think about a challenge we are facing at the present moment. A challenge, which has the power to disturb our inner peace, the balance of the self that is the foundation of our inner strength. The easy strategy to deal with such challenges is just put them aside, closed, hidden and locked into a pandora box that could never be opened without causing a sensation of deteriorating the self. We just ignore the fact that such a pandora box may be seen as a good strategy to deal with suffering at first but it represents, actually, remaining in such a state, getting anywhere and nowhere in each step we perform into our life journey.
The moment we get conscious about a challenge we are facing, it does not mean we have the solution at hand. It means we are able to realise and understand that losing our consciousness, embracing negativity, and remaining in suffering would not get us to any place that is beneficial to the self. Consciousness gets us aware and awake about what we are doing at the present moment. It has the power to extract knowledge even from a moment we cannot prevent the self from stepping into a state of suffering. By using our consciousness we are able to control the self in such a wonderful way that we can step into a state of suffering, conscious that we are entering a room that presents us no way to get out from anything we have contact with in the surroundings. The exit is within the self, accessed with no other key than consciousness itself.
The moment we realise consciousness is the master key to enter the path of a meaningful life, it is the moment we understand suffering is nothing more than urging to enter into a place we have no idea how it is.
