Slavery is no more. Although it’s crystal clear the abolition of slavery has occurred a long time ago, we’re still experiencing the side-effects and traces of its negative impact on humanity, dealing with people who (somehow) have a sick mind that segregates human beings into two distinguished classes: masters and slaves. We don’t need to go far away to observe that. Instead, we just need to keep consciousness at hand and open our third eye to see it clearly. The external observation shows that those sick minds who consider themselves as masters have a huge difficulty to talk with people equally. In order to talk to someone they need to recognise another as a master themselves, or in case of considering that person an inferior race, i.e., a slave, they need to know who the master of such person is, exhibiting a posture that imposes to be treated differently, i.e., as a superior race. As a consequence, when someone considered from an inferior race, i.e., a slave, excels in something, the highlight of such achievement gets obfuscated by a sick mind, who consider themselves as a master and accept no person considered a slave to achieve a better result, sometimes committing the dishonest and deceptive behaviour of disregarding those results obtained by someone considered inferior. The moment we realise we need to deal with those side-effects of slavery promoted by the presence of darkness in the surroundings, it’s the moment we understand why it’s essential to cultivate and nurture the beautiful light we’ve deep within while walking the path towards a meaningful life no matter the circumstances.

Let’s be clear that slavery is no more. Thus, let’s ask the following questions: Are we from a wealthy family? Are we treated equally in the environment we’re inserted into in all situations? Are we receiving some privileges because a family member or friend who cares about us has influence in the society we’re part of? Answering those questions while keeping consciousness at hand enables us to open our third eye and see what really happens in the present moment. And all human beings who attain clarity of mind and keep consciousness at hand after answering the aforementioned questions wouldn’t like what we’re able to see clearly.

It’s a hard reality but we’re still living under the dictatorship of slavery, no matter how many years have passed since its abolition in the environment we’re inserted into. The first action we can do to face that reality is treating people as equals, no matter who we're talking to. The second action is using a kind and compassionate attitude yet being firm before people who consider themselves as a superior race. Third, and most important one, if we aren’t from a wealthy family, we need to get prepared to deal with hidden discrimination, i.e., the one that is performed in an attempt to apply an inversion of control, with true intentions of making a person manifest negative emotions. Let me provide you with a clear example.

Imagine a hot day (86 °F) in an office building, and you enter a room where the air-conditioner is turned off. After feeling the hot air, you ask someone who was already there if there’s a problem to turn on the air-conditioner, and they say it’s OK to do it. After a while you notice there’s something wrong, as by the time the air-conditioner was turned on, and considering the number of people in the room, the temperature inside should be cooler than it is. Thus, when you start looking for answers, you find out the windows besides the person you’ve asked to turn the air-conditioner on are now all open, letting the hot air entering the room, which diminishes the purpose of getting the equipment working, and make it spend more resources (i.e., electrical energy) than expected. The expected reaction of someone who has asked to turn the air-conditioner on is complaining about the window situation, which is exactly what the person who has got the windows open would like you to do. It is the trigger they need to either complain behind your back or start an argument about that posed situation. If we keep observing, we may see the same person closing those windows almost 20 minutes before a (somewhat) manager enters the room to discuss something about the work they’re performing, and by that time when the discussion has started, the room temperature has got to what has been expected since the beginning the equipment has been turned on.

When we keep consciousness at hand we start seeing a lot of similar situations happening in the surroundings, and as those situations don’t configure any violation of any law besides the fact of being a discriminatory act that is extremely difficult to identify, there’s nothing we can do but fulfilling the duty of keeping consciousness at hand no matter the circumstances.

The moment we realise we need to deal with hidden discrimination inherited from the periods of legal slavery, it’s the moment we understand why cultivating and nurturing the beautiful light we’ve deep within is essential for walking the path towards a meaningful life.
